NetVitals
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 29, 2026
Alor Feri Limited built NetVitals: Speed & Data as a free, local-first Android application. This Privacy Policy explains how the app accesses, processes, stores, transmits, uses, and shares information when you use it.
Information Processed on Your Device
Depending on the features you use, your Android version, device capabilities, permissions, and settings, NetVitals may process the following information locally on your device.
Network Usage Statistics
- Aggregated bytes received and transmitted over supported network transports.
- Wi-Fi and mobile-data usage totals.
- Today and billing-cycle usage totals.
- Usage timestamps and time ranges used to calculate history and graphs.
- Current estimated download and upload transfer rates.
- Data-limit values, billing-cycle settings, and alert thresholds selected by you.
Connection and Transport Information
- Whether an internet connection is available, validated, degraded, or unavailable.
- Connection transport, such as Wi-Fi, mobile, Ethernet, VPN, or another supported type.
- Metered, roaming, captive-portal, and other network capability states exposed by Android.
- Limited active mobile-subscription or carrier information exposed by Android when needed to describe the current mobile connection.
NetVitals does not collect your phone number or IMSI and does not attempt to identify you from mobile-subscription information.
Monitoring and Outage Information
- Monitoring-session start and end times.
- Connection and disconnection timestamps.
- Confirmed outage start time, end time, duration, and observed transport.
- Monitoring coverage used to distinguish monitored time from unmonitored time.
- Latency, packet success or loss, DNS response, availability, and related health measurements.
- Network Health Scores calculated by the app when enough information is available.
Manual Speed-Test Information
- Download speed, upload speed, unloaded latency, and loaded latency where available.
- The date, time, transport, bytes transferred, and server region associated with a completed test.
- Temporary test data exchanged with a measurement server while the test is running.
Settings and App State
- Notification preferences.
- Billing-cycle day and data limit.
- Usage-alert thresholds and delivered-alert state.
- Scheduled health-check and weekly-summary preferences.
- Widget configuration.
- Theme, display, unit, and other app preferences.
- Whether you previously requested live monitoring, for displaying a resume reminder after reboot.
Information NetVitals Does Not Intentionally Access or Collect
The current release does not intentionally access or collect:
- Your name, email address, postal address, or personal profile.
- Your phone number, IMSI, contacts, messages, emails, or call content.
- Precise location, background location, or location history.
- Wi-Fi network-name or SSID history.
- Advertising identifiers or an app-created persistent device identifier.
- Payment-card or banking information.
- Photos, videos, documents, passwords, or account credentials.
- Webpage content, browsing history, or the content of network packets sent by other apps.
How We Use Information
NetVitals processes information only as needed to provide its network monitoring and reporting features, including:
- Displaying live download and upload speed.
- Calculating supported Wi-Fi and mobile-data usage totals.
- Showing today and billing-cycle usage progress.
- Sending data-limit alerts based on configured thresholds.
- Detecting and recording confirmed internet outages while monitoring is active.
- Running manual or scheduled network-health checks.
- Calculating latency, packet success, DNS response, availability, and health results.
- Running a manual speed test after you start and confirm it.
- Updating the ongoing monitoring notification and home-screen widget.
- Generating CSV or PDF reports that you request.
- Maintaining app preferences and preventing duplicate usage alerts.
Usage Access
NetVitals may ask you to grant Android Usage Access so it can query aggregated device network-usage statistics made available by Android. This access is used to calculate supported Wi-Fi and mobile-data totals for selected time periods.
NetVitals does not use Usage Access to read the content of messages, websites, calls, emails, passwords, or personal files.
You may revoke Usage Access at any time through Android's Special App Access settings. When Usage Access is unavailable, NetVitals may show a clearly labelled live estimate or state that trustworthy usage information is unavailable instead of presenting an authoritative zero.
Live Monitoring and Foreground Service
Live monitoring starts only after an action by you. While monitoring is active, NetVitals runs a foreground service so the selected monitoring task can continue when the app is not visible.
Android displays an ongoing notification while the foreground service is active. The notification may show monitoring state, current transport, download speed, upload speed, and a Stop action.
NetVitals does not silently restart live monitoring after a device reboot. If you previously requested monitoring, the app may display a notification inviting you to resume it.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, NetVitals may display notifications for:
- Active live monitoring and current transfer rates.
- Data-limit thresholds.
- Confirmed connection outages and recovery events.
- Scheduled network-health checks.
- Weekly or periodic summaries.
- A reminder to resume monitoring after reboot.
You can disable notification permission or individual notification categories through Android settings. Some passive monitoring and alert features may not work as intended when notifications are disabled.
Manual Speed Test and Cloudflare
When you start a manual speed test, NetVitals communicates with Cloudflare network-measurement endpoints to estimate download speed, upload speed, latency, and related connection performance.
A speed test exchanges temporary test data with Cloudflare and may use up to the limit shown by the app. The current test design is capped at up to 100 MB in total, including up to 70 MB of download data and up to 30 MB of upload data.
When the test communicates with Cloudflare, Cloudflare receives the public IP address used for the connection and may process request timestamps, network measurements, approximate country or city derived from the IP address, and the Autonomous System Number associated with the connection. Cloudflare handles this information according to its own privacy practices.
Learn more: Cloudflare Speed Test and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
A speed test is user-started and is not automatically run as continuous background work. Cancelling a test does not save it as a completed result.
Network Health and Outage Probe Service
Manual health checks, scheduled health checks, and outage-confirmation
checks may communicate with the NetVitals probe service at
probe.netvitals.app. The service is hosted using Cloudflare
infrastructure and uses bounded requests and timeouts.
The probe service does not require an account and NetVitals does not send an app-created advertising or persistent device identifier with probe requests. The service may receive standard internet request information, including the public IP address, request time, requested endpoint, response status, and limited operational metadata required to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
Raw IP addresses may appear in unavoidable Cloudflare operational logs. For logs controlled by Alor Feri Limited, the intended maximum retention period for raw IP information is seven days, except where a longer period is reasonably required for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or incident investigation.
Probe-service failures do not upload your local history and do not prevent you from accessing local usage records or monitoring controls.
Local Device Storage
NetVitals stores feature information locally using app preferences, files, and a local database. This may include:
- Usage buckets and usage confidence.
- Connection and outage events.
- Monitoring sessions and coverage.
- Health-check samples and calculated scores.
- Completed speed-test results.
- Alert-delivery records.
- App settings and widget state.
NetVitals does not provide a cloud account or cloud history synchronization. Local history is not intentionally uploaded to Alor Feri Limited's servers.
Home-Screen Widget
If you add a NetVitals widget, it may display locally processed information such as today's usage, billing-cycle progress, connection state, or monitoring state. Information displayed by a widget may be visible to anyone who can view your device's home screen.
CSV and PDF Reports
NetVitals can generate supported CSV and PDF reports entirely on your device. Reports may include:
- The selected report period.
- Wi-Fi and mobile-data usage totals.
- Outage records and monitoring coverage.
- Health-check and speed-test results.
A report is written only to a destination that you select through Android's Storage Access Framework. NetVitals does not request broad storage permission for this purpose and does not automatically upload reports.
If you later share a report through another application or service, that recipient handles the report according to its own privacy practices. Review the report before sharing it.
Advertising, Analytics, Accounts, and Purchases
The current release of NetVitals contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, subscription, paywall, billing SDK, or required account. NetVitals does not sell personal data.
If any of these practices are introduced in a future release, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration will be updated before or when the changed release becomes available.
Third-Party Platform Services
NetVitals is distributed through Google Play. Google may independently process information related to app discovery, installation, updates, reviews, device compatibility, security, and store operation under Google's own terms and privacy policy. This processing is controlled by Google and is separate from NetVitals' local feature history.
Learn more: Google Privacy Policy.
When Information May Be Transmitted or Shared
NetVitals does not sell personal data. Information may leave your device only in the following situations:
- When you start a manual Cloudflare speed test.
- When a manual, scheduled, or outage-confirmation health probe contacts the NetVitals probe service.
- When you choose to export or share a report with a destination, application, person, or service.
- When disclosure is required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
- When reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect the service, protect users, or enforce legal rights.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local Information
Local NetVitals data remains on your device until it is removed through an available in-app deletion control, Android's Clear storage option, deletion of an exported report, or uninstallation of the app.
NetVitals Probe Logs
For operational logs controlled by Alor Feri Limited, raw IP information has an intended maximum retention period of seven days, subject to the limited security, abuse-prevention, legal, and incident-response exceptions described above.
Cloudflare Information
Information processed directly by Cloudflare through its public Speed Test service or infrastructure is retained according to Cloudflare's own policies and is not controlled by NetVitals.
No Account Deletion Required
NetVitals does not create a user account or cloud profile, so there is no NetVitals account to delete. You may contact us regarding information controlled by Alor Feri Limited, and we will assess the request based on the information actually available to and controlled by us.
Your Choices and Controls
You can control NetVitals processing by:
- Choosing whether to grant Usage Access.
- Choosing whether to grant notification permission.
- Starting and stopping live monitoring.
- Enabling or disabling scheduled health checks.
- Changing data-limit and alert settings.
- Choosing whether to run or cancel a manual speed test.
- Choosing whether and where to export or share a report.
- Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.
Denying or revoking access may prevent the related feature from operating, while unrelated features may remain available.
Children's Privacy
NetVitals is a general network utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to provide personal profile information.
If we learn that information from a child under 13 has been processed in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy or applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to address it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information handled by NetVitals. Network communication with the described services uses HTTPS, and most feature history remains in the app's local device storage.
No electronic storage system, device, software, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
International Processing
Cloudflare and Google may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their processing is governed by their applicable privacy policies, terms, and legal obligations.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when NetVitals features, data practices, service providers, permissions, or legal requirements change.
Updates will be published at the same publicly accessible Privacy Policy URL with a revised effective date.
